New Year is the most creative time of the year! Even those who have not done any needlework in ages, have crafting on their mind. If you are hungry for ideas, come along and join “Craft Formula Moscow. Winter 2018”, which will take place on December 7 to 9 in hall 4 of Sokolniki Museum and Educational Centre. The hall is easy to get to: just take a free shuttle bus from Sokolniki metro station to the venue or take a walk through one of the most beautiful parks in Moscow, gloriously lit with Christmas lights.

This time, the event is themed around The Russian Winter and promises not only to present an array of vibrant folk traditions but also to celebrate the beauty of nature in winter, fun winter activities, things that help you stay warm and cozy during the season, as well as the joyful anticipation of Christmas.
The trade fair will offer:
- Gifts for your favorite holiday: clothes, wintertime accessories (hats and caps, scarves, bags, and many more), home accessories (for Christmas and other occasions), most unusual and sophisticated Christmas tree decorations and ornaments, designer fashion jewelry, natural and organic beauty products, and a great many other creative gifts;
- Hobby supplies: the most beautiful and unusual Christmas themed materials for your craft and DIY arsenal. For pros and amateurs, for kids and adults alike!
- New ideas for you creative hobbies. As you stroll through the aisles, you may think, “I could do it, too.” And you are right, and it is awesome! Find inspirational ideas and use them as you create your own items. The welcoming and festive atmosphere at every stand and valuable insights and advice offered at the show will offer a world of fresh decorating ideas for the holiday we all love so much.
Every year, Craft Formula gathers over 350 companies, shops, art studios, e-stores, individual designers and crafters, publishing houses, and training centers. Every winter, it draws more than 15,000 attendees from Moscow, Moscow Region, and all across Russia. And it is little wonder, since 200+ Russian and international brands come to display their products at Craft Formula.
At the winter exhibition, you are sure to find materials and kits for embroidery, knitting, decorating, decoupage, patchwork, felting, scrapbooking, toy making, soap making, food design, and other equally interesting creative activities, as well as children’s creative kits and insightful books about all sorts of handicrafts!
But Craft Formula is not merely about fresh ideas; it is about gaining knowledge as well. There will be over 200 workshops on various arts and crafts at the creative ground of the Craft Formula club. For those bringing kids along: you can be sure they will be kept entertained with crafting as you tour the exhibition at your own pace. For your littlest ones, there will be a special area with workshops, activity coordinators, and a playground; the ground floor will have a mother-and-child room.
Want to show off your craft skills to the public? Go ahead! Take part in our Symbol of the Year creative contest: submit your pigs and piglets made in any handcraft technique you like — from felting to quilling. Both kids and adults can join in! Waiting for you at the stand of the Formula Rukodeliya magazine editorial staff will be a special guest — a magical potter ready to teach you to make real musical instruments using clay. And of course, you can enter into the New Year Prize Draw to win prizes from the exhibitors.
New Year is the time for good deeds. Chistoe Nebo charity foundation will set up workshops at a dedicated playground. The foundation will also collect gifts for orphanages as part of our regular Garden of Good Deeds project — join the prizes-for-all charity lottery to get a memorable New Year gift.
What is New Year without delicious food? The Tasty Handmade special project will include a patio with an unusual café and a number of stands offering a selection of chocolate, natural teas and herbs, lavender meringues, gingerbread bakery, natural honey, original sweets, and green products for your New Year treat. On top of that — kitchen accessories, such as original baking cups, molds and profiled rolling pins, and much more.

Another tradition the New Year exhibition has is the Carnival Parade which will take place on December 8 at 17:00 on the main stage of exhibition hall 4. Come as a family with your party suits on, perform a dance or a song, or recite a poem, and become one of five most talented entrants to receive some great presents from Craft Formula, while runner-ups will get memorable gifts!
