From July 13th-14th, the front part of Sokolniki Park will witness the Photographer’s Day: Viva Italia supported by the Department of Culture of Moscow and the Mosgorpark Joint Chiefs of Parks. 

A set of exclusive photo galleries will fill the space between the Main Alley and the Festival Square. National Geographic will present the Secret Russia exposition and PlanetPics, an educational website will shock you with the Yellow in Nature premiere installation. 

The Fountain Square will accommodate the Photo Lab. The Lumière Brothers Centre of Photography will hit you with a special business agenda (July 13th, 01.30 pm – 03.30 pm) within the framework of the PhotoWednesday show. Vladimir Samarin, founder of PhotoStore, Russia’s first independent professional edition dedicated to photography, a photography and photographic equipment expert, Editor-in-Chief of Raccord+ and ForoTips will give a talk entitled “Full-Colour Photography Emerging in Russia. The Feat of Prokudin-Gorsky”. From 04.00 pm to 06.00 pm, Mikhail Geller will be conducting a master-class entitled “Travel Photography”. The prominent photographer will give a talk on four shooting modes in an alien city, share some tricks of taking pictures in the street, tell the audience about image processing and enhancement, etc. 

The business agenda will find its way into July 14th. From 01.00 pm to 03.00 pm, PlanetPics will rock the place with Daniil Kolodin’s lecture on extreme photography equipment. You will learn what devices are best to grab for mountain snowboarding, city skateboarding, BMX, wakeboarding and Formula 1 photography. Artyom Achkasov will give a talk entitled “Auto and Motor Racing Photography” from 04.30 pm to 06.30 pm. Aleksei Gubanov’s lecture entitled “The Photographer’s Way and Progress. How Do I Become a Photographer?” (07.00 pm – 08.00 pm) will be the closing event of the festival.
