About the project:
The 7th Global Dance Olympiad is to be held from April 29th – May 9th, 2010, in Sokolniki Museum and Educational Centre, Moscow, Russia.
Over 17,000 participants from 40 countries will participate in the Olympiad. Championships and World Cups are to be held within the Olympiad, as well as European and Russian competitions (hip-hop, techno, break dance, folk, jazz, hustle, and other modern dancing styles). One of the main features of the upcoming Olympiad will become the celebrating of World Day of Dance –approved by UNESCO and celebrated every year in late April. Traditionally, the Olympiad begins on this day.
The Olympiad is to be closed with the Victory Waltz.
