Chemiakin’s art contest in Adygea will be dedicated to the role of calligraphy and text in art
The next Adygea contest within the framework of Mihail Chemiakin’s Musée Imaginaire: The Anthology of Forms scheduled for the coming autumn will cover the subject of calligraphy and text in art.
Since 2010 a number of contests and exhibitions have been held: “The Scream in Art”, “Monsters in Art: Mythological Characters”, “The Hand in Art”, and “Children in Art”.
Applications from participating Southern Russian artists and submissions in the form of annotated images will be accepted until August 15th, 2015. Chemiakin will personally select the best artworks. The terms of the contest allow the participation of all artists without any restriction on age, education, or art union membership. ‘The artworks may be of any genre or material, the only requirement is absolute creative latitude in exploring the theme through a combination of pictorial motifs and words,’ says the exhibition manager.
The North Caucasian branch of the State Museum of Oriental Art and the Saint Petersburg, the Mihail Chemiakin Foundation cultural centre has organized the event.
