International Orthodox fair “In the beginning was the Word...”

About the project:
For the first time Mir-Expo Exhibition Company to hold an Orthodox fair at Sokolniki Museum and Educational Centre. A prayer service marking the grand opening of the exhibition to take place on the first day. During the exhibition some shows, including a festival of orthodox theater, performances of folk groups, concerts, folk festivals on the occasion of Maslenitsa festival, to take place in Sokolniki Park.

The exhibition is mainly purposed is to promote the intellectual enrichment, Christian values and orientations, to revive spiritual culture, traditions, historical monuments, to preserve historic image of the Church, as well as to demonstrate development of Orthodox life’s various sectors.

The exhibition to be attended by churches and monasteries from the Ukraine, Belarus and many Russian regions. Parishioners to have a great chance to learn more about distant monasteries« being, to venerate the sacred remains known for their miraculous properties. The exhibitors to present the Orthodox icons, church paraphernalia, spiritual and educational literature, monastery goods, as well as clothing and footwear, household goods and appliances, health products and medical cosmetics, natural honey and bee products, products for kids and more.

Main sections:
Activities of Russian and foreign Orthodox communities and organizations, spiritual literature, orthodox media, church utensils, Orthodox goods, arts and crafts and traditional handicrafts.

In addition:
Business program of fair “In the beginning was the Word…” is full of spiritual events and cultural activities. We invite you to worship the revered icons and other relics brought to the exhibition from all over Russia and foreign countries. We also ask you to introduce shrines especially revered in your monastery or parish.
